Qantas Engineering in Los Angeles is home to our state-of-the-art maintenance facility which opened in 2017, where we carry out critical scheduled maintenance on our wide-body aircraft with a primary focus on our A380 and B787 fleet. We conduct ‘A’ checks, engine changes and day to day line maintenance requirements where we have departures back to Australia every night, connecting North America to Australia. While we continue to conduct critical maintenance for our international network, we are also preparing to welcome our first A350 to our Qantas fleet, expanding our maintenance capabilities in North America.

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will play an important operational role. You will perform maintenance, rectification and modification on Qantas and client aircraft components as per manufacturer/company specifications. You’ll read, interpret and follow instructions laid down in technical literature and complete all documentation and reporting requirements to airworthiness and company standards.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all maintenance is carried out in accordance with the system of certification
  • Completing tasks allocated in accordance with the Procedures Manual and aircraft manufacturers Maintenance Manual requirements
  • Performing rectification, servicing and maintenance of the Qantas fleet aircraft and equipment
  • Completing all documentation and reporting requirements in accordance with Company policy
  • Ensuring your contribution allows our performance to meet or exceed customer expectations • Complying with Service and Occupational Health and Safety Standards

You’ll have:

  • A FAA A&P Licence or have documented training and experience in Aircraft Maintenance which can be assessed as suitable for position
  • Relevant Aircraft Maintenance trade experience
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Qantas Maintenance procedures
  • Ensured conformance with practices and procedures covering the maintenance of aircraft with the objective of promoting the highest achievable standards
  • Awareness of corporate occupational, health and safety responsibilities and procedures
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a dynamic team environment
  • A commitment to being a highly customer-focused team worker with flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
  • Sound communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly developed attention to detail
